Country Garden Design in Bristol

This large country garden on the outskirts of Bristol belonged to an old farm, and the existing garden was predominately still a field. To maximise on the space, old boundaries were removed and a large formal lawn was projected out into the field and surrounded by seasonal planting. The lawn serves as an excellent space for the grandchild to play football and a space to put a marquee for summer parties.

As you move away from the house, the garden grows gradually less formal, with a vegetable garden, including raised oak beds, a greenhouse, garden shed and compost bins. Beyond this the garden becomes wilder, with oak pergolas guiding you through swathes of colourful winter Dogwood stems and eventually towards a wildflowers meadow, which in the Summer is full of Daisies and wildlife.

I am fortunate enough to still maintain this garden alongside my design work, and it has been a delight to see how the planting has evolved and provides so much colour and interest throughout the year.

“Alicia has been looking after our garden for the two years and has transformed it to a wonderful place that is a garden for all seasons. She is wonderfully friendly and is a great teacher. Great value for money as her garden design experience is also excellent.” – The Client
